Lego Me

So the other day I was playing around on Em's iPhone and found this pretty cool Lego app she got which lets you take photos and then edits the photos to be made out of Lego blocks. So yeah... this is us, Lego style.

Singapore Malaysia 2009/10

As some of you may know, I recently went to Singapore and then to Malaysia with family to spend Christmas and new years. Here's a brief sum up of what I did.Stop one was Singapore Zoo. This place very clean and the atmosphere was good. It was incredibly humid though making it real effort to drag myself around to see all the animals this 28 hectare zoo had on display.I also got to ride an elephant which didn't turn out to be as great as it sounded. The ride was bumpy, it felt like I was doing the splits while sitting on the elephant and it stunk. Next was possibly the busiest place in Singapore- Orchard Road. Christmas decorations, statues, lights and live music lined the packed street as people went from store to store.Beats my Christmas "tree".The next day we headed down to the port for a cruise around the bay. As part of the cruise we got to stop off at Kusu Island which was just over 5 and a half kilometers from Singapore. Kusu has quite a religious background, with many Malays coming during the ninth lunar month to pray for good stuff to happen to them.
After 3 days, we flew over to spend the rest of the 2 weeks in Malaysia. Most of the time was spent catching up family, uncles and aunties, cousins, family friends and also people who you have never seen before but who have known you since you were little. After going to the major shopping malls (Sunway Pyramid, 1 Utama, Bagsar, Pavilion etc.) we arrived at Malacca on the second last day of our holiday.Malacca is one of those touristy type places with old buildings and statues and things of that nature.Grave stone of some guy who died a while back. If I remember correctly is was a Dutch guy who died in the 1700's. What's a Dutch guy doing in Malaysia? Malacca used to be run by the Dutch from 1641 till close to the 1800's. There were many of grave stones like this around the place. These heavily decorated bikes took paying customers for a ride around the town. Many featured speakers at the rear that were blasting one of three things- Michael Jackson (Beat It seemed to be very popular as did Billie Jean), classic Asian music or, wierdly, trance.
We then took a cruise along a river. Then we went home.
Well that pretty much sums up my trip. Check out more photos at my Flickr.
