Katie's Trip To The Vet

A couple of weeks ago, we took Katie to the vet for a checkup and to get her immunised. She has to go back in a few weeks time to get another injection and then she will be safe to play with other dogs.

Everyone seems to comment on how small she is, from the vet who mentioned that she was one of the smallest dogs she's worked with to a kid at the park who yelled out excitedly to his mum, "Look how small that puppy is!"

How I Got a Steak For Free

Headed out to Knox last night with the usual people for dinner and then to watch the new Harry Potter movie. Phil and I had wanted to go eat steak for the past week so we all went over to eat at Hog's Breath. It was pretty packed so we had to wait around 20min to get a table and after ordering we spent ages waiting for our food to arrive.

I was pretty hungry by the time the food arrived and was looking forward to eating my steak until I discovered nearly half of the thing was raw after I had ordered medium rare. It looked disgusting and after a good 10min of arm waving Mary finally got the attention of one of the waitresses. After 'talking to the chef' the waitress apologized and wiped it off the bill, hence how I got a free steak. I was pretty disappointed as I had waited a week to eat steak but I was left to eat chips and some calamari rings. Damn you, Hog's Breath.

After dinner, we watched Harry Potter which was absolutely boring for me. This is probably due to the fact I have no interest in the series at all and was lost the whole movie. Oh well, it was funny hearing Carmen scream!

Damn, That's Some Funky Shit!

Do not drink this. I found a box of this in the pantry the other day and thought I would give it a shot. One of the worst drinks I have ever tasted. It's described on the can as being a "Sweet Cinnamon Punch" and they weren't kidding about the cinnamon part! It leaves such a weird after taste in your mouth and is definitely not pleasant. If you ever feel the urge to drink this, don't.

Pool > Homework

Today I went to Glen to meet Phil and Mary as Phil had asked me to go and do homework with them at the library. Seeing as we got there pretty late (we planned this last minute) we only had around an hour or so to do work before the library closed. We had lots of time to burn after leaving the library so after a late lunch we headed over to Strike to play some pool.

Unlike Phil, I'm no pro at pool so it was no surprise that he absolutely killed me in the two games we played. I did however win the game I played against Mary that went on for absolutely ages! That's what you get when two noobs verse each other.

A Hobo Experience

It sounded like a good idea at first. Michael decided to have a 'bonfire' at his house earlier this week so I rocked up expecting him to have a massive wood fire burning in his backyard. His idea of a bonfire was a little different however and after we went to buy wood and meat to cook he pulled out a trash can from his garage in which he put the wood in then doused the lot with methylated spirits and set it on fire.

It was absolutely freezing that night and everyone just huddled around the fire and 'cooked' sausages. They didn't really cook. Infact most of the time they weren't cooked enough, burnt, or the stick holding the sausage had caught fire and then broke. The sight of all us guys sitting around the fire was quite amusing; we looked like a bunch of hobos.

With hypothermia setting in, 2 uncooked sausages and smokey smelling clothes, I gave up and went to the warmth and comfort of inside. Nope, the hobo life ain't for me.

A Good Night

Picked up our puppy, who we decided to call Katie, on Saturday. My mum loves her and is always spoiling her with treats. And to think she used to hate the idea of getting a dog...
